The request for this project was to design lighting for this large area that would guarantee the safety of inhabitants, i.e. by providing highly uniform illumination, neutral white light and the option of dimming the lights at lower traffic levels. At the design stage, we had a number of issues to deal with, such as the variable distances between columns and presence of a high-voltage power line. Using Cree LED technology, we managed to reduce the number of lights in car-parks. The positive results achieved convinced the local authority to extend the project to a second installation phase.
A total of 102 fixtures, 4300 K, were installed in this project.
Parking areas and pathways:
17 THE EDGE Street fixtures with optic type PR, of 40 LED on 4 m columns.
11 THE EDGE Street fixtures with asymmetric street optic type TMB and back-lighting, of 40 LED installed on 4 m columns, 25 m apart.
Street with parking:
61 THE EDGE Street fixtures with asymmetric street optic type TS, of 40 LED installed on 4 m columns, 17 m apart.
Rue 1er Mai:
13 THE EDGE Street fixtures with asymmetric optic type TS, of 100 LED installed on 9 m columns, about 30 m apart. All lamps used in the project feature the light control system (option G), allowing increased energy savings.
Parking areas and footpaths:
Average illumination: 10 Lux; Uo= 0.25
Average illumination: 9 Lux; Uo= 0.22
Average illumination: 18 Lux; Uo= 0.50
Average illumination: 21 Lux; Uo= 0.64
Rue 1er Mai:
